acbI went to Rough Trade this afternoon and (finally) picked up the Arcade Fire album (now out in local UK release). On first skimming, it's certainly interesting, and seems to have some good tracks.
In the free-stuff pile near the door, there was a box of CDs of contemporary Norwegian music titled "sunkissed live", organised by the Norwegian embassy to commemorate the centenary of Norway's independence. I didn't recognise any of the artists other than Ralph Myerz + The Jack Herren Band; I suspect there's a bit of electronica, electropop, beats and such there; judging just by the look of the artists' names, I'd say there's little or no black metal there for one. Anyway, I picked one up.
