Man: In Love With Machine

My copy of Cartwheel's Man: In Love With Machine arrived in the mail today. It's pretty good; lots of layers of electronics, indie-art-pop guitars and reverbed vocals, though perhaps it could do with more of a stereo image in places. Still, very nice.

I was a bit disappointed to find that it's a CD-R, and not a pressed CD. Perhaps the UK indie market (as opposed to the major-label "UK indie" market) is too small and/or fragmented to justify releasing things in multiples of 500 at a time? It is actually a pressed CD, though for some reason has a dot-matrix printed number on the inside, which, in low light, makes it look CDR-like.
