Fanclub was fun tonight; there was a bit of a birthday party for two people (one of whom was Georgina who runs the night). I did a partly-impromptu DJ set (cut a little short by the band being late for their soundcheck), drank more Hoegaarden than is sensible (four bottles, two of which were on my drink tab), and met some people I knew and a few pretty cool people I hadn't met before (including
justlikehoney).
Anyway, people liked the music I played and so I'll probably be DJing at Fanclub again, and doing later sets (when there are more people around).
My DJ set proper looked something like:
There were several false starts before this set, when the band was soundchecking, during which I played part or all of Slowdive's Slowdive, Max Meier-Maletz' Swinging Nordwest, The Gentle Waves' Falling From Grace and that Nancy Sinatra song from the Kill Bill soundtrack. A touch repetitive, but I basically worked with what I had from last night.
