Lounge AC30 was good last night; Sarah from Schmoof and Adam and Holly-Anne from Mink Engine (who are touring, and are on their way to Tokyo now) made it along. They seemed to get along really well (as I thought they would, given that their musical projects aim at similar things). I spent most of the time cueing up tracks on my MP3 players, though managed to talk with them a bit. [livejournal.com profile] hazyjayne also came along with two friends from afar, one of whose birthday it was, so she brought chocolate cake.

  • Stone Roses vs. Soul Hooligan - Shoot You Down
  • The Jesus and Mary Chain - Just Like Honey
  • Slowdive - Alison
  • The Boo Radleys - Lazarus
  • The Underground Lovers - Pauline In The City
  • Cartwheel - Yellow Keys
  • Mid-State Orange - Summer In Disguise
  • The Smallgoods - Who's Never Seen The Sun?
  • B(if)tek vs. Architecture In Helsinki - Lofi Kids
  • Mink Engine - Biscuit Farmer
  • The Lollies - Happy
  • Schmoof - Sweet Child O' Mine
  • Bis - Love Will Tear Us Apart
  • Talkshow Boy - Ice Police
  • ninetynine - Wöekenender
  • Girls Are Short - Karate Ninjas
  • Spearmint - Say Something Else
  • Remington Super 60 - Nice System In Space
  • Minimum Chips - Furniture
  • Architecture In Helsinki - Scissors Paper Rock (and the track following it; I had left the MP3 player play and gone to talk with people by then)
  • Momus - Life Of The Fields (as [livejournal.com profile] imomus came up in discussion with the Mink Engine kids who apparently saw him in Tokyo once)
I'm starting to repeat myself a bit here, mostly because I dipped into my collection of classics/favourite DJ set tracks. I'll probably play a few tracks from this on Friday at Tigermilking, along with more electropop. My next Lounge AC30 set (in a few weeks, I imagine) will probably be more shoegazer/glitchtronica/post-(kraut)rock/&c. (I keep meaning to play more of that sort of thing.)
