Alphalink suckage

acbI tried dialling in to Alphalink this (Sunday) evening to check my mail. I got through, but then got disconnected for no reason. I tried dialling back in, but got disconnected with a "You are already logged in" message. This went on for exactly 3 hours, until my non-existent "connection" timed out.
I'm tempted to ditch Alphalink for an ISP who have their shit together. (There's this and their network being grindingly slow, and that's even by dialup standards.) Any recommendations? (Assume that broadband is currently out of the question.)
