Classics of Australian cinema
Jun. 3rd, 2004 02:25 amToday, I picked up the newly-released DVD of The Cars That Ate Paris, Peter Weir's 1974 rural gothic exploring Australian car culture. The DVD is actually a double feature, containing both this film and a latter Weir film, The Plumber, which appears to be some sort of psychological horror film.
The next classic Australian cult film I buy will probably be the much anticipated, feature-rich DVD release of Dogs In Space (expected later this year, according to Richard Lowenstein).
