charlies_diary, there's a new Christopher Brookmyre novel. I've found his previous novels very entertaining (they're basically extremely wry observational comedy and social satire in the guise of crime thrillers), so I'll probably get this one some time after it appears in shops here.
(I'm currently making my way through Steven Pinker's The Blank Slate, which is proving compellingly readable. I've just finished the copy of John Brunner's The Shockwave Rider I found in Sydney last year. Next on my queue would be the copy of Cory Doctorow's Eastern Standard Tribe I've downloaded onto my Visor, and/or the copy of Lucky Wander Boy currently on its way from the US.
