This is green, this is grey
Jan. 8th, 2004 03:15 amThe weather decided to behave itself for my birthday. Over the past few days, the run of hot, sunny Australian summer weather has been broken, and the weather has been cool and overcast.
Today, the sky was an ocean of grey cloud, the air cool and crisp. It rained in the morning, and drizzled intermittently during the rest of the day. The ground was wet, and there were puddles on the footpaths and gutters, reflecting the green of trees against a grey sky. At one stage I felt like listening to Sigur Rós.
I love days like this; for some reason, everything seems so much more alive than when it's hot and muggy. (And there's the way that water on the ground interacts with light, too.)
