Aug. 27th, 2004 07:19 amThe flight to London could have been better. The inflight entertainment system was malfunctioning, with video/audio being unavailable for much of the first leg and the interactive content (i.e., games) not being available at all. Additionally, after we were herded on at Singapore, we spent an hour or two waiting on the tarmac; firstly we were in a queue for clearance, then the altimeter was found to need recalibration, and then a passenger had a medical emergency. We made it into London about an hour and a half late.
I did strike up a conversation with the passenger next to me though, and he gave me the contact details of his nephew, an IT headhunter; that could be a stroke of good luck.
At the moment, my internet accessis severely limited; I get about half an hour a day, in the evening, and can't use it during the day or at night. I'm hoping to remedy this soon. My mobile phone still receives SMSes, though.
